Enjoy the opening scene from Ein deutsches Requiem performed by the Chorus of Dutch National Opera!

‘Happy are the sorrowful, for they shall be comforted.’ These are the opening words of Johannes Brahms’ monumental choral work Ein deutsches Requiem. A religious work in which hope and consolation predominate and the Chorus of Dutch National Opera showed its wealth of sounds, colours and contrasts. Last season, Ein deutsches Requiem was streamed from Het Concertgebouw. With this work, Ching-Lien Wu took her leave as artistic director of the Chorus.
