Floor Eimers: The winner of the Alexandra Radius Prize 2021 – Dutch National Ballet

Floor Eimers (Nijmegen) trained as a dancer with the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague. In 2012, she joined Dutch National Ballet as an adspirant, after which she went through the ranks of élève, corps de ballet and coryphée and became a grand sujet in 2017. In 2019, Floor made her debut in the dual role of Odette/Odile in Swan Lake. At the start of season 2019/2020 Floor was promoted to the rank of soloist.

On 14 October 2021, she received the Alexandra Radius Prize at the premiere of Mata Hari. The friends of Dutch National Ballet have annually awarded a dancer of the company with this award, which is a tribute to the famous ballet dancer Alexandra Radius, since 1988. The judges called Floor “an extremely gifted dancer with enormous physical strength, striking technical talent and a distinctive stage personality” and “also beyond the dance stage (…) a true ambassador for Dutch dance”.

Floor: “I am incredibly happy to receive this award and also consider it an enormous honour to be added to the list of fantastic dancers who have won the award before me. Being part of this wonderful tradition has felt like a dream. And now the time has come. Alexandra Radius, the judges and all the friends of the ballet, thank you for this recognition!”
