Global Citizen Prize Winner Anuscheh Amir-Khalili Is Supporting Refugees | Global Citizen Prize 2022

Born in Iran in 1977, war and crisis have been a part of Anuscheh Amir-Khalili’s life since childhood and, aged 8, she had to flee to Germany because of the Iran-Iraq war. This year’s Global Citizen Prize: Citizen Award Germany winner, Anuscheh’s mission is to empower women in the Middle East affected by war and crisis, and give them a path to independence. She founded the social start-up Band of Sisters, which is part of Flamingo — a Berlin-based NGO made up of women supporting refugee women in Germany and the Middle East.
