On Friday 25 March, countertenor Arturo den Hartog, with piano accompaniment by Djuwa Mroivili, contributed to Black Opera Alliance’s Gala Showcase II with two beautiful songs: ‘The Negro Speaks of Rivers’, written by Langston Hughes and set to music by composer Margaret Bonds, and ‘Night’ by Florence Price and Louise Wallace
