During the Opera Forward Festival 2021, seven spoken word artists responded to Kurt Weill’s The Seven Deadly Sins with performances of their own. In this video you can see the performance of the deadly sin lust by Isis van Geffen: “In my text I approach the theme of lust from an absurdist angle. The devil in my text is a metaphor for the dark side in myself. A side that pulls me down and submerges me in fear.”
