'In Conversation with Sara Houston' (University of Roehampton)
Dr Sara Houston was the invited speaker for the first event in the 2020-21 Guest Lecture Series. She speaks internationally on community dance and political issues concerning dance and the arts. Dr Houston’s prize-winning research project (2010-2014) centres on the impact of dancing for those living with Parkinson’s and has been commissioned by English National Ballet. In 2011, the BUPA Foundation awarded her its prestigious Vitality for Life Prize for the Dance for Parkinson’s research. Her book, Dancing with Parkinson’s (2019), brings together her research in this field of study.
