'In Conversation with Dr Kerry Chappell' (University of Exeter, UK)

The fifth event in our Guest Lecture Series 21-22 features invited speaker Dr Kerry Chappell, Associate Professor in Education (University of Exeter, UK). In conversation with Dr Kathrina Farrugia-Kriel on Wednesday 6 April 2022, Kerry Chappell spoke about post-humanist creativity, technologies and Higher Education. Drawing upon ‘Researching Posthumanizing Creativity: Expanding, Shifting and Disrupting’, Chappell discussed how pedagogies for creativity could be disrupted and expanded. This conversation will be of interest to those invested in dance, creativity, as well as pedagogy at large.

Kerry Chappell leads the MA Education Creative Arts Programme and the Creativity and Emergent Educational Futures Network at University of Exeter. Her research (funded by e.g. AHRC, ESRC, EU Horizons) focuses on creativity in education, specifically in the arts (dance) and transdisciplinary settings, and how creativity contributes ethically to educational futures. She is also a visiting lecturer at the Danish National School of Performing Arts, and an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Western Norway University of Applied Science. She is co-convenor of the BERA Creativities SIG and Associate Editor of the Thinking Skills and Creativity journal.
