Candice Chirwa leads a Know Your Flow workshop to break period stigma and fight period poverty
Period poverty is more than access to pads — it’s a sanitation, health, education, and dignity issue. The Global Citizen team visited a Know Your Flow menstrual health workshop led by menstrual health activist Candice Chirwa, creating a safe and empowering space for girls to learn about menstrual health, the menstrual cycle, period products, and breaking common myths about periods. Menstrual health is a critical part of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and advancing gender equality. When girls can’t afford menstrual products or access safe water and sanitation, it impacts their ability to attend school and participate fully in life.
