COP das Baixadas | Defenders of the Forest
COP das Baixadas was born from the collective strength of organizations, artists, and community leaders who came together to unite their voices in defense of the Amazon.
In the Amazon region, “baixada” refers to the urban peripheries — vibrant communities full of life, resilience, and culture, yet often the first to face the impacts of climate change. More than a movement, COP das Baixadas is a living network that promotes climate education, culture, and sports — amplifying voices and strengthening narratives of climate and social justice across Belém and throughout the Amazon.
Together, they’re building the conference we want on the road to COP30.
