The Sleeping Beauty rehearsal video of Carabosse | Dutch National Ballet

Like many fairy tales, this one features a villain. In The Sleeping Beauty this villain is not a witch, wicked stepmother or scary wolf, but a fairy with a spinning wheel! Much to her dismay, fairy Carabosse is not invited to Princess Aurora’s christening. But she visits anyway, heavily offended. As a christening gift, Carabosse wishes that Aurora will one day prick herself on the needle of a spinning wheel and die….

From 12 October, this golden crown jewel by Sir Peter Wright will be performed in our theatre!
